SOUPER and POP Timeout

Hello everyone!

Recently I had the misfortune of getting a POP timeout while retrieving
my e-mail. SOUPER 1.6 Beta 8 had only downloaded two messages, so it
proceeded to zip the messages, but the AREAS file was 0 bytes long.
When I tried to import the file, it didn't find any messages.
Fortunately, I was able to undelete the file, and to unzip and view
the messages from withing the zip file. The two messages were
unimportant to me, but I was wondering why SOUPER doesn't send an
acknowledgement of having retrieved all the messages after that has
happened. That way, if something happens in the middle of the transfer,
the messages are left intact in the POP server.

Just a thought from someone that doesn't know jack about SOUPER but
except how to run it! =-)
