Question about strange(?) behavior in yarn/2 (0.91 and back)

Every since I first configured yarn (mmmmm... v0.7x) I have not been
able to see the copyright/info stuff on the right 1/3 of the screen.=20
In fact, for the longest time I didn't know anything was even supposed
to be over there until one day when I was experimenting with config
options and accidentally erased the config file. Lo and behold when I
ran yarn w/o the config file the right half of the screen had info
there. Something like...:
=20
Newsgroup Unread
ng1.... xxx PC Yarn version 0.xx
ng2.... xxx Copyright by Chin Huang
ng3.... xxx
ng4.... xxx Press F1 or H for help
etc.... x..
....
.... You have mail

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
not present w/ 'config'

Anyway, you get the idea. My question is how do I get that little
splash screen when a 'config' file exists?

One more thing..., it would be very, very, very, very, very, helpful if
the right arrow key marked messages in mail folders 'Read' then
proceeded to the next message (like it does for news). Sometimes
(especially on mailing lists), I'll read some of the file and want to
save it for future reference, but don't want to have to 'PgDn' to the
bottom of the message _every_ time. What I would like is a key that
will mark the current article 'Read' and go to the next message.

Thanks for listening...

Keep walking past the open windows...
