How about something along the lines of:

-10 pattern Body ^A$
^
|
Or whatever letter the .sig is

I _think_ this would catch every post that has the single letter at
the beginning of a line followed by the end of the line.

...assuming that when the docs say 'buffer' they mean line, when
grepping through a multi-line text.

Might also be slow.
