After some investigations, the bug seems to be the following:
- it is NOT correclated with Warp4!
- it is correlated with emx09c C library
- it does not help to switch to emx09b, because the bug is in the C
library which I've linked statically to VSoup1.2 (unlucky one!)
- the problem is caused by illegal values of the TZ environment var.
TZ should contain something like MET-1MES, where MET is the
standard time, -1 is the offset from UTC, MES ist the power saving
   time.
- if TZ is set to an ill value, VSoup1.2 will bomb out with something
like SIGSEGV at address 01dbb2. If you experience this type of
problem, you should change the TZ var (please report
   success/failure)
Thanks to the people who has responded to my small survey!
