But have you tried my idea? To my understanding in VSoup1.1 hostName
was set to an empty string in case TCPOS2.INI was empty - just like in
VSoup1.2. If you give the '-i' switch, VSoup1.2 tried to connect to
smtp with 'HELO (NULL)' which is rejected cause (NULL) is an invalid
host name, but 'HELO ' seems to be valid (first case you will get, if
hostName is a NULL-pointer, the later if hostName points to an empty
string...)
Give it a try and report what happened - this is a real bug...
BTW: does anybody know the RFC number for SMTP??
