Forget Uqwk 1.8... get Uqwk2!

Well until 2 or 3 weeks ago i'd suggest my shell home vex.net here in
Toronto, Canada. Coincidentally also the home of the aging official
yarn site.
Except two or 3 weeks ago they switched OS's and ever since then i've
been Uqwkless. )-: I can't get the darn thing to compile on the new
OS (NetBSD 1.3). I'm not very smart with C compilers. It seems the
"socket" and "nsl" libraries are missing, but I don't know what to
do about it and the admins seem not to want to help me on this. I
have bugged them a couple of times about it, with no specific
response, so i get this feeling that it's way way way way down there
on their list of priorities. I guess i'm the only one on the system
who uses Uqwk... no huge surprise there.
On the bright side this adversity has forced me to seek out alternate
usenet sources and i found a gem of a website called newzbot!
The url is on my mom's computer at the moment.. i planned to post
it here for anyone looking for public access news servers it's very
helpful... but i forgot to copy it down...
Anybody want to enlighten me about how to get socket and nsl support
into gcc so i can compile uqwk and be happy again?? The nice thing
about Uqwk is that i have a cron script to pack news early in the
morning so it's just waiting for me all nice and zipped up on the
shell... fast compressed download...
