2004.02.12 IMAP Mail Folders May Disappear

We ran into complications running the old IMAP server on the new system and had to make quick switch to new software. The problem is there is no standard as to the way folders are located in IMAP, and may IMAP servers handle them in slightly different ways. This affects webmail users, and anyone using IMAP mail clients to read their mail online. You may have experienced, or are still experiencing, difficulty seeing your folders. Rest assured the folders are still on the server, it is just the IMAP server being a little confused and not finding them. We believe we have fixed the situation for the majority of users, however the "fix" seems to have caused more complications for a few users (for example, we have reports of at least one user using Mozilla based IMAP still having problems). If you use IMAP and still have any missing folders (even your inbox!) please let us know, so we can figure out the best fix for your setup. Also, there is a message which has appeared in many folders warning you not to delete it. You can ignore this message, and delete it! The old server used and hid this message for its own internal purposes, but it is no longer needed, and unfortunately tends to just cause confusion. We apologise for any inconvenience during this transition, but I (Tim), at least, am very happy not to be using that old IMAP server any longer! Onwards and upwards...

Good Words
from our Clients

D'Arcy and the Vybe Networks team, under very tight deadlines and difficult circumstances, provided exceptional advice and support for our project. We are very pleased with the results of their efforts and would recommend Vybe to businesses and individuals seeking professional internet services.
