2002.07.22 Upgrade Caveats

Please be aware that with the new server we have tidied our directory structure. In order to more cleanly separate system files from installed files, we are now installing 3rd party packages in the NetBSD default location of /usr/pkg. This should not affect most users, as programs will continue to operate as normal, and /usr/pkg/bin is added to your system path automatically in most cases. Any scripts that have the PATH variable set explicitly in them, however, should add /usr/pkg/bin to it (or include the original path: eg. PATH=$PATH:my/path), if you require calling any 3rd party applications. You will also need to adjust any scripts in which you are calling third party applications with full path expressions. For the sake of CGI, perl and python have been made available in all the usual spots CGI programs often hard code them.

Good Words
from our Clients

D'Arcy and the Vybe Networks team, under very tight deadlines and difficult circumstances, provided exceptional advice and support for our project. We are very pleased with the results of their efforts and would recommend Vybe to businesses and individuals seeking professional internet services.
